Nicole Henry Miami Gardens Concert reviews
Great concert but with issues
This review is for a recent concert we attended, our 2nd time seeing DCFC. We have been following them for years. After the first act finished, there was a thunderstorm that delayed the show, forcing everyone to vacate their seats up front. When we were allowed back in after about 35 minutes, they were setting up for CVRCHES. The band was good, but we weren't fans of her Minnie Mouse voice. It took another 1/2 hr to set up for Nicole Henry, who was fantastic. Ben appeared more engaged with the crowd this time, despite being soaked from the heat. At the beginning of Cath..., there was a bar where there was no music, which was strange, but they didn't miss a beat. Due to the delay, they had to play a shortened set list, ending with When Soul Meets Body. Towards the end of the song, there were noticeable sound issues, and Ben became visibly frustrated. He ripped off his earplugs, slammed his guitar to the ground, and stormed off the stage. The rest of the band hesitated for a moment before slowly exiting. The audience was left stunned, unsure of what to do. The stage crew rushed out to fix the problem, and about 5 minutes later, the band returned to perform what would have been their final song, Transatlanticism. Ben thanked the crowd, and they played on, but the awkward ending lingered over the concert. Despite this, I am hesitant to leave a negative review because I am such a fan of the band, Ben, and his running career. I would still attend their concert again without hesitation as they are talented musicians and performers. If you plan to see them, just hope there are no sound issues.
